Meet the Author — Lipika Kumar

Hi, if you're curious about the person behind these articles, here's my story:

I'm not a millionaire, a financial advisor, or someone who's going to tell you that waking up at 5 a.m. and skipping coffee will magically make you financially free.

I'm someone who has experienced financial tightness, lived through months where every paycheck already had a purpose before it even arrived, and spent a lot of time wondering why managing money felt so much harder than people on the internet made it seem.

Whenever I searched for financial advice, I noticed the same pattern.

Most articles told me what to do.

Create a budget.

Save 20% of your income.

Invest consistently.

Avoid debt.

While none of that is wrong, very few people talked about why it's so difficult to actually do these things when you're living paycheck to paycheck, dealing with unexpected expenses, or simply trying to get through the month.

That's the reason InnerFinances exists.

The topics you'll find here were chosen because they're questions I've asked myself, conversations I've had with people around me, and financial patterns I've seen repeat over and over.

I don't believe most people struggle with money because they're lazy or irresponsible. Sometimes they're exhausted. Sometimes their income simply isn't enough. Sometimes life gets in the way. And sometimes they're following advice that was never written for someone in their situation.

Instead of telling you what you should do, I want to understand what's happening underneath the surface first. Because if we never understand the reason behind our financial habits, it's easy to keep repeating the same cycle while blaming ourselves every time it doesn't work.

You'll notice that many articles on InnerFinances don't end with a perfect formula or a list of "10 guaranteed tips." And that's intentional.

My goal isn't to convince you that there's one right way to manage money. My goal is to help you pause, reflect on your own financial habits, understand the psychology behind them, and hopefully find ideas that fit your reality instead of someone else's.

If even one article helps you understand your relationship with money a little better, then this website has done what I hoped it would do.

Thank you for being here.

I hope you find something that makes your financial journey feel a little less confusing, a little less overwhelming, and a little more human.
